LUSH Vanishing Cream

I’ve fallen a bit in love with LUSH, I really love their ethos and the knowledge that their products are so fresh and natural. When I ran out of my lovely Antipodes Rejoice Day Cream, I decided to give a LUSH day cream a go instead since I’d been using Rejoice for a few years.

What I look for in a day cream is something that I can wear underneath makeup without it being too greasy but still with enough nourishment to make me feel like it will be well moisturised for the day. I went into the LUSH Newmarket store and chatted to the very helpful salesperson. She suggested either Skin Drink or Vanishing Cream for my skin. I couldn’t decide so she gave me a sample of Skin Drink to try as that was the one I was gravitating towards.

Skin Drink is a rich blend of sesame, almond and evening primrose so it’s super nourishing but I found it a little too much for under my makeup. It took a long time to absorb into the skin so when I was in Los Angeles, I popped into a LUSH store and bought myself the Vanishing Cream.

LUSH Vanishing Cream

Vanishing Cream is a much less fatty moisturiser than Skin Drink and so it absorbs into the skin much faster. It’s perfect for under makeup but it still makes my skin feel soft and supple… plus it smells of lavender which is just divine!

The main ingredients are a light shea butter, linseed, camellia, grape seed and jojoba oil. These ingredients help to clear the skin from acne so it’s name not only refers to how the cream vanishes into your skin but also helps make spots disappear!

I’ve been using it every day since we’ve been travelling so about 2 months and I’m really impressed with the results. I can be prone to some breakouts and considering how many different temperatures we were in, plus not exactly living the healthiest lifestyle with all the food we ate! But I feel like considering these conditions, the Vanishing Cream has helped to keep my skin looking good with minimal spots.

Now the one negative I have to say which is nothing to do with the cream itself, is that the pot is really frustrating! LUSH products come in recyclable plastic pots but no matter how tight I screw the lid on, when we travelled cream always creeped out the sides creating a mess!

Now that we are back at home, the pot is just be sitting on my bathroom shelf so I don’t have the same problem- but it’s just something to be aware of as I’ve had a bit of wastage. If you are planning on travelling with it or taking it anywhere, I recommend transferring it to a more secure pot.

The LUSH Vanishing Cream retails for NZ$49.90 (45ml Pot) and there are stores all over the world. LUSH does not test on animals and you can trade in 5 empty pots in exchange for a free face treatment!

  1. A little pricey, but I really enjoyed this post! My facialist always tells me I have a lot of oil build up when I go in for my routine facials so maybe this product will help reduce that according to the LUSH product description: ” If you have oily skin, you need to moisturize your face! It all comes down to skin care basics; if your face is oily, it’s compensating for something.”

Thanks for shedding some light on a new product! Much appreciated!!
